Madsnor has reached an important milestone in thedevelopment of MADS (Multiphase Abscess Drainage System), our new andcomprehensive solution for drainage of abscesses in the abdominal cavity andorgans.
Last week, Madsnor successfully completed testsof our pipe-in-pipe catheter. The catheter is designed to enable more efficientdrainage than current single-lumen catheter solutions.
In parallel with catheter development, work continues on thedevelopment of the pressure/vacuum pump that will be integrated with thecatheter. The pump is a key component of the MADS technology and is intended toautomate the drainage process.
The ambition is that the interaction between the catheterand the pump will provide:
– more continuous and predictable drainage
– shorter treatment times
– reduced need for manual intervention byhealthcare professionals

The next phase of development involves further testing ofthe complete solution, followed by planned evaluation in patients in the springof 2026. This represents an important transition from technology development toclinical application, with patient safety and documentation as centralpriorities.
The development work is carried out in close collaborationwith both clinical environments and industrial partners.
Madsnor would like to extend its sincere thanks to Valide, development partner Yallow Life Science, and dedicated healthcare professionalsand surgical specialist at Rikshospitalet and Stavanger University Hospital fortheir valuable contributions and strong collaboration throughout this phase.
Combining clinical experience, technological development, and cross-disciplinary collaboration is essential to creating solutions thataddress real needs in healthcare.
