About Dr. Bjørn Edwin

Professor Bjørn Edwin is a specialist in gastrointestinal and hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery, holding a PhD on the topic "AdvancedLaparoscopy – from the Research and Development Department to Day CareSurgery."

He is a professor in minimally invasive surgery and has completed significant leadership training in addition to his medical education.

Throughout his career, Professor Edwin has gained extensive clinical experience in oncological surgery, HPB surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and minimally invasive surgery. He has served, and continues to serve, as supervisor or co-supervisor for 32 PhD candidates, maintaining a strong academic profile both nationally and internationally.

Professor Edwin is an active member of several leading international organizations, including the International Laparoscopic Liver Society (ILLS), the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), the InternationalAssociation of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists (IASGO), and theInternational Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA).

His scientific contributions include over 320 publications in peer-reviewed journals, more than 500 presentations at national and international congresses, and contributions to eight book chapters. According to Google Scholar, he has achieved over 15,000 citations, more than 60,000 reads, with an h-index of 66 and an i10-index of 217.
