Tore Tholfsen is a specialist in general and gastrointestinal surgery, with extensive expertise in both conventional open surgery and minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques.
He completed his surgical specialization in 2014 and worked as a senior consultant at Stavanger University Hospital until 2017. He then joined the Department of Surgery and Specialized Medicine at Rikshospitalet, where he specialized in HPB surgery (liver, gallbladder, and pancreas).
As a member of the MADSNOR team, Tore's experience as a gastrointestinal surgeon is highly valuable. With years of hands-on clinical experience, he has managed both routine and complex cases involving intra-abdominal abscesses and postoperative complications—conditions that often require drainage procedures in close collaboration with interventional radiologists and ward staff.
His insight will be a key asset in guiding engineers and technicians toward developing the most effective and practical solutions for the MADS® system.
